AMD联合Unity放出了一个开源的高性能GPU加速57ab光线追踪引擎,后端支持OpenCL、Vulkan以及C++,叫做AMD Radeon Rays技术。AMD Radeon Rays可作为支持全局照明渲染、声音渲染的重要支持技术。AMD and Unity released an open source high-performance GPU accelerated 57ab ray tracing engine, and the back-end supports OpenCL, Vulkan and C++, called AMD Radeon Rays technology. AMD Radeon Rays can be used as an important supporting technology to support global illumination rendering and sound rendering.

Unity points out that GPU based light mapping generates nearly 200 million of the beam per second, which is 10 times more than that based on CPU rendering technology. Moreover, the GPU based advanced light mapper used by Unity engine can increase the baking speed of Radeon Vega graphics card by more than 10 times. In this way, the designer can almost instantly see their modification effect in the global illumination after making any modifications to the light, material and texture.
